Let it snow…some more.

January 31, 2008

We have at least a three foot drift in our backyard and more then seven or eight inches of new snow since yesterday. Needless to say, I won’t be leaving the house today unless it’s on foot.

Let it snow, let it snow…

January 29, 2008

We have nearly a foot of snow right now, and it just keeps on comin’. Jude and I haven’t left the house in three days. Ha! Going a little stir-crazy, but getting a lot done. Michael’s home sick today. What a great day to be all snuggled in the house!

My little sewing table…

January 28, 2008

Thanks again Michael and Sharon for my new sewing machine. I LOVE it. And I’ve just finished my first little project. I made these pillows with a couple of vintage scarves I found at a grange sale for 20 cents each! I used cream corduroy for the backs and stuffed them with polyfil. I have about six scarves left that I also bought last spring, but I think I’ll make a few curtains next before finishing the pillows.

I realized Jude didn’t have any toys the other day…so he picked this one out. We’ve named her Marcy. Cute, yeah? And you can see that Jude’s started holding his little hands together!

Smiley little thing…

January 26, 2008

You know, I just have to let ya’ll know, since you aren’t around Jude very much, that he is the most smiley little guy I’ve ever met. Seriously. He smiles ALL the time. I wish more of you could see it and be won over by it and have your heart just fill to the brim with joy when he does it. Because that’s what happens to me every stinkin’ time. Example. Tonight he was sooooo tired. I put him down in his crib after much fuss, and what does he do? He grins. Grins! When he wakes up in the morning, he grins. When he sees Poncho, he grins. When his dad talks to him, he grins. When you change his diaper, he grins. Bathtime, naptime, bedtime, day or night, he grins. We love it. A friend of ours asked us if there was one word to describe what we think Jude will be like when he’s older, what would it be? My first thought was “sweet”. My second, “gentle,” like his daddy – because he’s such a happy little guy (more often than not anyway). So I’ve been trying to capture his smiles on video so you guys can see it, but really, you should just come visit and hold the little guy. He’d love it. We’d love it. All are welcome.
