Combining Blogs

January 7, 2009

I’m going to try combining my judesmom blog with this one. I seem to neglect one or the other. So, for pictures of the Judester, visit www.judesmom.wordpress.com. If you want to go directly to pictures and skip all the text, just click on the photos link on the right sidebar.

Jude, Jude, Jude…

December 14, 2008

Jude has been changing like crazy (as all little guys do, I suppose). He’s sprouted three teeth in the last couple of weeks, poor guy, and is just about to start walking. We keep thinking it’ll be any day now. He did take a step a couple of times when Grandma Sharon was here. Lucky lady, right? We had such a nice visit with her on Thursday. So far, she’s the only one we can leave Jude with and he doesn’t cry. Jude is also starting to make the same sounds as us, repeating every so often our last words (in consonants, anyway). Lately, he’s been a singin’ fool. Music comes on, Jude starts to sing. It’s great.

And the little bun in the oven is also really active. Sometimes, like yesterday morning at 4am, I thought he just might kick his way out of my belly. Will our next baby come out running? From the way he moves and shakes, I’d have to say yes, because he moves SO much. We’re still working on coming up with a name for the little guy. It’s funny. We knew Jude’s name the day we found out we were having a boy. Kind of hoped it would be the same with our second. No such luck. We’re working on it.

More good news? It’s snowing in Issaquah! I’m hoping to wake up to everything blanketed in lovely white. I have plenty of sewing to do tomorrow; I really wouldn’t mind if we stayed home all day. Especially after all of the running around today. We went to the nearest Walmart to pick up something I had ordered online and it took an hour to park, pick it up at the back of the store, and checkout. Craziness. I think I’ll stick to making gifts and keep away from the madness in the stores (if possible).

Hope all of you reading are looking forward (and are able) to being with family over the holidays. I can hardly wait. Merry Christmas!

My Apologies

August 10, 2008

We just found our camera battery charger yesterday. The battery is charging and new pics will once again be posted on a more regular basis. For an update, I’m six weeks pregnant and feeling pretty darn good. Jude is saying “mama” like crazy (though he still doesn’t know I’m his mama) and is so close to crawling. We’re just waiting for it. We’re getting ready to move to Issaquah in the next month or two so Michael can begin an internship at Alathia Church. I can’t wait to live again where it always rains! Can’t wait to get Jude a little raincoat and boots… What else? Not much. Just started packing up boxes today. But I promise, more regular updates and pictures, coming soon.

Another baby?

August 7, 2008

Yep. We’re adding another little one to the mix. Well, the Lord has graciously decided to bestow new life to our family of three. How awesome that the Creator both gives and takes away, for he knows best. So cast your votes folks: boy or girl? We have names picked out for both, but of course, they’ll be top secret until the little one’s here.

Jude Can Kiss!

July 23, 2008

I know I haven’t posted in a while. Sorry about that. We’ve had visitors, visitors, and more visitors. I love it. But I have to share that Jude started giving me kisses yesterday. I say, “Jude, give mama a kiss,” and he leans his little face in and barely sticks his lip out. I kiss him and he gets a huge grin on his face. It’s awesome! He did it for dad this morning too.

He has a really bad cold these days. We went to the doctor yesterday and he has an ear infection, secondary to his man cough. Seriously, who knew babies could cough like adults! He’s still a happy guy though. He’s just chatting away as I’m writing this.

Potholes Family Adventure coming up this weekend. Can’t wait!

After a pretty rough night, Jude got his first tooth. I noticed it this morning. It’s one of his bottom teeth and it’s just a tiny little piece. I’m probably in for a couple more sleepless nights until it’s all the way in? I’m not sure how this works… But yeah, what a big boy, right? :)

Our Summer Vacation

June 5, 2008

Well, we’re in Aberdeen for a couple of days after spending three nights in Seaside, Oregon with my family there (pictures coming soon!). It’s a blustery, rainy day today and we love it. There’s nothing like being on this side of the mountains where it’s cold and green. Tomorrow we’ll be on our way to Bremerton to visit some friends then off on Jude’s first camping adventure in the Olympics. I bought him a little Christmas snow suit at a consignment shop in Seaside so he’ll be nice and warm in the tent at night. He’s ready for it. When the electricity went out at our place during the winter, Jude was all bundled up and he slept right through it. He’ll do great.

So, this is us and what we’re up to. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. We’ll be home next week. I’ll be sure to post our trip pictures.

Moses Lake

February 16, 2008

Jude and I are embarking on a solo adventure this morning. We’re going to Moses Lake so Jude can meet his great grandparents, Don and Dolly. It’s a beautiful day. Should be a beautiful drive.

Friday, already?

February 8, 2008

Baby Jude still has cold. His voice is raspy and his nose is plugged. But of course, he’s still smiling. We hope and pray our little guy will have this sweet disposition for the rest of his life. He’s such a sweet baby.

Today we’re going to the accountant’s office, on a lunch date, and maybe to the grocery store. I’ve had this darn fabric to make curtains sitting on my table for a week now. I should really get to that.

We’re still planning on heading over that way the last week of February. Jude and I might stay at Jim and Sharon’s for a couple days while Michael goes to his conference in Seattle.

We love you guys!

Wednesday

February 6, 2008

Good morning family and friends. It’s Wednesday, and we have a new dusting of snow. Thank goodness our landlords are getting the driveway plowed tomorrow… Jude is sleeping now. He has a pretty nasty cold: lots of buggies and lots of coughing. Poor guy. I’m starting to feel pretty sick myself. We thought we were in the clear since Michael’s been feeling better for about a week now, but it looks like we’ve both got it too. Regardless, it’s a beautiful day, God is good, and my heart is rejoicing.

Pictures of Jude coming soon…
